LCHS has officially launched this year's Red Ribbon Week. From October 24-28, 2016, students will sport Red Ribbon bracelets that state "2 Smart 2 Start," and campus trees will be decorated to promote awareness about the dangers of using drugs.
On Thursday, October 27, students will be able to witness first-hand the devastating, life-altering effects of driving under the influence, during a drunk driving simulation, which be held on the quad during lunch. Displays will be viewable to educate students about health and safety topics, and a demolished vehicle from an actual DUI crash will be available for an up-close look.
LCHS has also invited actress Vanessa Marano from hit TV shows, such as Switched at Birth and Gilmore Girls, to attend the event and pose for pictures with students who sign the pledge to be drug-free.
Thanks to the Red Ribbon Campaign, our special guest, and the faculty and staff involved, this year's Red Ribbon Week is set to be one of the best we've ever had!
