LCUSD Winter Newsletter

Dear LCUSD Community,

Welcome to the LCUSD 2016 Winter Newsletter.  It’s arriving at just about the busiest time of year, so I hope you will accept my heartfelt wishes for a joyous holiday season and remember to come back to this email or to the District website and read the interesting articles from the LCUSD Leadership Team sometime during the winter break when things are a bit less hectic.

As 2016 comes to a close, I cannot help but reflect upon the many blessings we share as a District community.  The superb character and incredible talent of our students is matched only by the dedicated professionalism of our teachers and staff and the generous support of our families and community.  Working together, LCUSD’s success is intentional, guided by the stewardship of the Governing Board and framed by the home-to-school partnership of educators and parents working together to deliver a world class educational experience to the students we love.

We will return from the holidays to a busy first month in the New Year.  Two evening events that I ask you to mark on your calendars are on Tuesday, January 17, and Monday, January 23.  On Tuesday, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the LCHS Auditorium, Dr. Denise Pope – co-founder of Stanford’s Challenge Success program, will lead us in an informational workshop about the Challenge Success initiative at LCHS 7-12, with the goal of finding ways to bring less stress, more balance, and a broader definition of success to all our students.  Then, on the following Monday, January 23, again in 6:30 p.m. in the LCHS Auditorium, we will host a Facilities Master Plan Town Hall, actively seeking your feedback on designing, visioning and prioritizing a facilities plan for our school sites for the next 15 – 20 years.  Both are significant events for our District and I hope you will be able to attend.

Until then, I wish you peace, happiness, time with family and friends, and an open heart to the magic of the season.  I am most fortunate to serve as your Superintendent and to partner with you in our commitment to excellence in LCUSD.

Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,
Wendy Sinnette
Superintendent
